This is the Place

Today was free day at this is the place monument in Salt Lake.  So Holly told me about it and we decided to go.  Lexy didn't understand when I kept saying we are going to "Thi is the Place"  I tried to explain it.  She said, "Are we going to Jump and bounce?"  So then I explained about Brigham Young and things.  "So are we going to were Brigham (her cousin) use to live?"  We had a great time.  We got there around the time it opened and parking was good and no long line to get in.  They had a bunch of trains that drove around place to place instead of the old covered wagon and horse.  So that of course had to be the first thing.  Brigham and Jackson couldn't wait.  We panned for gold, saw an old ship, visited an Indian village, Brigham Youngs house, and some other village areas.  We were there for about 3 hrs.  Not to hot.  But it did start to get very crowded so we came and left at the right times.  We missed a lot of stuff though.  We parked the stroller under a tree and did most of it without the stroller because of the trains.

Here are the photos.

Wow-i didn't know there was so much to do at "This is the place". my mother-in-law loves to go up there on pioneer day, but i have never been. I just hear it is super hot and crowded. Didn't know there was such fun things for kids to do.
