When my kids ask for a dog, I tell them exactly what you were saying. We already have a baby, maybe when we don't have a baby we can talk about a dog. Then my neighbor's dog pooped on my carpet (He was only in the room less than 5 minutes--and I was there too!) and I thought I can probably wait a LONG time for a dog!
