Buddy

Well someone did call me today and show up an hour later to get Buddy. He is officially gone. Jaden is very upset. He wouldn't even come outside. After they drove off with Buddy I cried a little. Mostly for Jaden. I felt horrible. But, Buddy is going to a much better home. The family is 5 kids, and they have teenage boys who like to train dogs. So they already have one dog, and their son got to choose another one to keep and train. So Buddy will have a yellow lab friend, named Buddy.

Jackson seemed a little confused when he saw the family drive away with Buddy that he stood there with his arms folded not moving or anything. Even after they had driven away. Hope he doesn't think he is next.

We still have Maisey. Which Jaden is also upset that we didn't just get rid of her.

And so is life. I hope I haven't caused a lifetime of problems by taking away something that he loved.

I was about Jaden's age when my parents gave away our first dog, I remember being pretty sad but my parents said that my sister and I could get ours ears pierced to make us happy. That did the trick, pretty funny looking back on it. I'm not saying pierce Jaden's ears but maybe there is something else that will help take his mind off of it? :) Good luck, children seem to bounce back from things pretty quickly. Just give it some time!

i can totally relate! my kids were really upset when we gave away their cats last winter. they cried about it and were sad for quite awhile, a couple months actually, but now they just ask when we get to have cats again. every couple weeks it comes up. i felt like the worst mom in the world for getting rid of them, and i cried too, but i had no choice at the time. you gotta do what you gotta do as a mom, and sometimes that includes things that aren't fun for anyone. i'm sorry! it'll get better though!! :o)
